Introducing my newly redesigned King James Only Research Center.
I’m really excited about the redesign. The site is now a normal website rather than a website-wannabe using blog software.
The site is very user-friendly with simple built-in navigation. And it includes a site blog, where I hope to blog about additions to the site and other KJV-only related finds I come across.
I still have more work to do with the site, but I’m satisfied with the new design, and feel I have the infrastructure in place to finally fill out my own writings on the topic.
If you have linked to the KJV Only Debate Resource Center in the past, please update your link to the new site: https://www.freewebs.com/kjvonlyresearch/index.htm and edit the name to the new site name: King James Only Research Center. Some may not have linked to the old site, because it was difficult to use. I hope the new design will bring more visitors and encourage more to link to what I hope is a useful resource.

I didn’t read everything on the website, but I’m sure I’ll get to it at some point or another. Are you personally a KJVO’er? If so, how does that fit with going to church at Bethlehem? As I remember Piper used RSV for a while and now uses ESV like most other Reformed churches are doing as well.

I’m a former KJVO’er. My site tries to give people the tools to climb out of KJVO-ism on their own. I try to (as much as I can) be not directly anti-KJV in order to not turn people away. I don’t link to extreme KJVO nut cases, but am aiming toward helping those who are more moderately KJVO or as I would have called myself TRO (Textus Receptus Only).
My site is primarily links and recommendations right now. But I hope to start adding more of my own content to it in the future.

Funny that I came across your blog again, I was pondering the KJV only issue the other day and had a crazy thought, “What if the Queen of England had a brain blip and Authorized a new, improved and updated translation of the Bible.” Isn’t that what King James did? As the head of the church she has that authority to do so… What I am getting at is, would this action cause the old “Authorized Version” to become unauthorized and be replaced with a new and most likely very liberal new “Authorized” version? What would this do to the arguments for the KJV.
Also who do you imagine would be on the translation committee?

Most KJVO advocates don’t really think like that. It’s not that the AV is Authorized, that makes it. However some of them do argue that the “king’s copyright” somehow legitimizes the KJV over other translations. That argument is just bologna as you’ve demonstrated.

No, I’m not a KJVO advocate and really never was. I’ve had some discussions with some people who are and all of the conversations I’ve had have ended negatively (They tried to argue the importance of thee, thou, thy, and thine for like 45 minutes). Most KJVO people that I have met are very judgmental and I’m not sure how they think they could actually reach a lost person. Good luck with the website and hopefully by His grace they will be led out of misconceptions.
