  1. Pastor Moorman was completely owned, that doesn’t sound very nice, he clearly was not even in the same ballpark as Dr White. Pastor Moorman was in little league and White was in the majors, I sorta felt sorry for Moorman, kinda like a granddad getting lost at the mall. I admit I am biased, so others may have seen it differently. Moorman spoke about some kind of insurmountable mountain of evidence, which was torn to shreds by White in a short matter of minutes, and then Moorman came back later still talking about the insurmountable mountain, and I heard White off-screen say something to the effect of, we’ve climbed the mountain and are now on the other side, that’s when I realized how completely devastating White was in this debate. This is my first encounter with Pastor Moorman, he brought nothing new to the debate, I can think of several other kjvonly’s that would have given White a better battle. I did enjoy it, but still have to scratch my head how White can be a calvinist. (grins)

    1. Greg,

Thanks for the report. I missed the debate, and am hoping it becomes available for download. Moorman has some of the best resources available from a KJV Only perspective that scours through the available evidence to show which readings have Greek support and etc. His book Forever Settled is a classic accounting of the supposed near unanimous support for the KJV in the various languages and texts.

Glad you were able to tune in.

  2. Bob, I’m bummed, I thouht that alot of folks would have been commenting. I’m wondering if they saw it the way I did. Oh well.

    1. Greg,

I haven’t seen the debate and apparently it isn’t available for download. They did replay it once. There is a lot of discussion at the link in the article (for more details). Over a hundred comments there. I think people are discussing it there rather than here.

      Thanks again,

      Bob

  3. Thanks Bob, I got over there yesterday after the superbowl. Pator Moorman seems to be holding his own in the opinions of alot of these folks, of course there are many that saw it like I did.

I have been debating with a couple of KJVonly’s over the last couple of months. I find myself in a peculiar position because I personally think the KJV is a fine translation, the manuscripts that back this translation are good, what I have such a hard time with is the exclusivity that the KJVonly’s bring to the battle over this translation. I feel odd to have to “find” problems with this fine, old, venerated translation, and yet these folks think that God-breathed the English in this translation. KJVonly’s seem unable to understand that because I may question certain things about their preferred translation that I am not anti-KJV. Nothing could be further from the truth.

KJVonly’s, even many of the more-educated ones, fail to comprehend, that bottom-line, the KJV is a translation and the work of fallible translators
