I’m back.
15 states, 4500 miles, and many an hour with someone crying in the car. Thankfully it wasn’t too many hours of crying.
We traveled to my sister’s college graduation in Florida, and reunited with my parents (who are missionaries on furlough from Africa). We spent some time together with family in a cabin near Gatlinburg, TN. We then drove up to the Detroit area for a few more days with my folks. It was a nice trip, but we didn’t have as much time for email/internet — so I didn’t keep up with the blog, like I had hoped.
Then on top of the planned trip, we had 2 detours through SD. We took my wife to Mitchell, SD to visit her grandmother who was dying, before our trip. And we made it to the funeral on the way back. She knew the Lord, and her time had come (she was 87, and this was expected). Still it was difficult for the family. We’re thankful that Carolyn got to have some quality time with her grandma to say goodbye, as it was one of the last of Grandma’s good days before the end.
Regular posting should resume shortly. I just wanted to update everyone on our trip.

How are your parents and Katie? I feel older to read that she has graduated! Please do give my regards to them. I get letters from David all the time and am glad to read them and pray for them!
Bob,
I was browsing the blogger world using the name of my college, Pillsbury Baptist Bible College and found your blog on some other guys as a link. Your blogs name caught my eye. I too am a “reformed fundi” I Just want to encourage you to continue you blogging about reformed theology for the sake of unity. I am extremely encouraged and will link you and frequent your blog.
Crowned Fish,
They are doing great. Katie will be moving to Minneapolis near us, and hopes to pass the national licensing exam and become a RN. She’d like to gain some experience, preferably in pediatric nursing, before using her talents on short term missions trips, and possibly contemplating long term missions.
My parents are back until January. They are raising money for a new vehicle (the last one’s axle snapped in two, recently) for their bush church planting expeditions. Things are going well on the field, and they are healthy and happy. It was great to reunite with them.
I hope you and yours are well. I heard that your parents get my parent’s letters every once in a while too. I was able to see the old church, and my parents are staying in our old house, which is now a mission house. The church has made some changes for the better.
BTW, are you interested in an old friend of our’s email address (a friend who share’s your name)? You might have it, but I could give it to you. He’s married and still at the church, working at Ford as an engineer.
Blessings in Christ,
Bob
Drew,
I’m encouraged by your post. Do you have a blog, your link doesn’t work.
Blessings to you from Jesus,
