Oh come on. I know people with degrees from good colleges that can't write on this level. I know people with a masters that don't write that good.

I agree... God prepares people in a variety of ways.

James,

Thanks for reading, I am glad if you were blessed by this post.

Ryan,

Fairhaven has made advances in the realm of scholarship recently, with Jeff Voegtlin well on his way to a Doctor of Education at BJU. I am thankful for what I received, but I wish it would have been a lot more in several areas.

With 3 kids now, and with a certain college bill mentioned on this blog recently, "real" seminary is impossible at the moment, it seems. I would love to go for an M. Div. somewhere (I may even settle for Bethel Seminary someday, as it is right here in the Twin Cities). As it is, I plan on taking advantage of my church's institute classes, some of which have been accepted for seminary credit in places such as Southern. By the way, thanks for reading.

Toby,

Time and energy spent on music!?!? All the men involved in the debate I mentioned as truly evangelical Christians are concerned with every area of their lives being in subject to the Lordship of Jesus Christ--including music. A non-chalant, who-cares?-attitude does not reflect the work of the Spirit in our lives. For many, these kinds of concerns are foreign to them. I understand. Much of what this blog is about is foreign to people. But I hope that Jesus Christ and His worth will be so evident throughout this blog, that any who are not true believers in Christ will fall down in praise to God. That they will see and be attracted by the beauty of Christ enough to search out for themselves Who exactly Jesus is, and Why He would seem to matter so much to these people.

Off topic :-)

Ryan, do you have other experience with people that had the same education as Bob? Maybe he learned some scholarship from the "fake" college he went to!

:-)

As it is, in God's sovereignty, that's how God prepared him for where he is.

Off topic-

Bob Hayton, you write way above your education. Seriously... I'm always impressed with what you write. Have you ever considered going to a real seminary? Are you going to one?

I agree that emotion and doctrine are not mutually exclusive in worship. Jesus said worship involved both spirit and truth, not spirit or truth. Thanks for this post.
